In a vibrant display of patriotism and unity, Shivalik Public School, Sector-78, marked the 79th Independence Day with great fervour and excitement. The celebrations continued for a week, with students unleashing their creativity and national pride through a wide array of engaging activities. From stirring role plays and poem recitations to melodious patriotic songs and tri-color badge-making, the students left no stone unturned in expressing their love for the nation. Kindergarten children, personifying national heroes, took center stage in a role play competition on Wednesday, showcasing their creativity and patriotism.
A special ceremony was organised on Friday, 15 August 2025, to commemorate the 79th Independence Day. The ceremony began with the flag hoisting by school Principal, Ms. Poonam Rani, symbolizing our nation’s pride and unity. This was followed by a march past and salute by the students of the four houses of the school. A special assembly followed, featuring soulful poem recitations by students of Class VI. Students of Class VIII delivered inspiring speeches, while a team of students showcased their talent with a vibrant dance performance. The assembly also included a poignant role play and a thought-provoking nukkad natak by Class IX students, highlighting the nation’s legacy which its young citizens need to preserve.
The inter-house quiz competition on India’s freedom struggle was a highlight, challenging the students’ knowledge and sparking lively discussions. Principal, Ms. Poonam Rani, reminded everyone of the significance of freedom and the duties that come with it. As the event drew to a close, the campus was filled with a sense of pride, unity, and respect for the nation’s glorious heritage, leaving an indelible mark on the students’ minds.
