IPL Ticket Blackmarketing : Mohali Police have successfully busted a IPL blackmarketing racket involving the illegal sale of IPL tickets at inflated prices. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
IPL Ticket Blackmarketing accused have been identified as Naveen s/o Madan Lal r/o House No. 324/2, Railway Road PS Patiala Chowk, Jind, Haryana, Darpan s/o Naresh Kumar r/o RZ Street No 6, Near Radha Krishan Mandir, New Delhi and Parharsh Anurag s/o Shankar Kumar r/o Flat No 184 Pocket 1, Sec 9, Dwaraka, New Delhi.
Providing further details, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Harmandeep Singh Hans, stated that FIR No. 91 has been registered under Section 318(4) of the BNS at Police Station Mullanpur against the accused, last night at Mullanpur Police Station.
These arrests were made during the First Qualifier T-20 match of IPL 2025 between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur. The accused had procured a large number of tickets in advance and were selling them at exorbitant prices near the stadium premises. Acting swiftly on a tip-off, a police team from Mullanpur Police Station apprehended the accused red-handed.
The SSP further stated that investigations are underway to uncover any wider network or accomplices involved in the racket. He also issued a stern warning to those engaged in the illegal practice of ticket blackmarketing and overcharging, asking them to desist immediately or face strict legal action.
He further appealed to the general public if they have any information about the black marketing of the IPL match tickets near new cricket stadium then immediately inform to the SHO Mullanpur at 9203200009 and DSP Mullanpur at 7710111912.
