Senior Punjab Congress leader and former Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu welcomed the Punjab Government’s withdrawal of the anti-farmer Land Pooling Policy, calling it a major victory for the farmers and the Congress Party after a long and determined struggle. He said this decision is a significant achievement for the farmers of Punjab and everyone associated with agriculture.
To mark the repeal of the policy, celebrations were held today at the Punjab Congress Bhawan, where a large number of party workers and farmers gathered, distributed laddoos, and shared sweets to express their happiness. Former Minister Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa and Mohali Mayor Amarjit Singh Sidhu were also present on the occasion, stating that the Congress Party will always stand as the voice of farmers and protect their rights.
Balbir Sidhu said the Congress Party has always fought for the rights of farmers, and this victory is the result of the unbreakable unity between the party and the farming community. “We will never back down from protecting farmers’ rights under any circumstances,” he affirmed.
He further said that the policy’s repeal is not merely the end of a scheme but a symbol of the ongoing struggle for justice and the voice of Punjab’s farmers. The Congress Party promises to continue its fight for the welfare of farmers and the development of agriculture.
Sidhu concluded by saying, “Our message is clear – protecting the rights of Punjab’s farmers is our foremost duty.”
