Simran Kaur from village Dumna, who was stranded in Ukraine, returned home last evening. Due to which the  parents of Simran  have breathed a sigh of relief for the last several days.

Coming home, Simran told reporters that she was studying for the fifth semester of MBBS in Khirkiv. She said that there are about 26,000 medical students in Ukraine. All these students were forced to spend their days in very difficult conditions, but the students living in the hostel helped each other a lot. Simran said that she had difficulty in eating and drinking and she kept drinking water by heating the ice. Simran said that they    they   had to cover a distance of about 1500 km to reach the border. Simran said that due to the constant bombardment in Ukraine, its citizens were hiding in bunkers or basements to save their lives from air strikes and there was an atmosphere of fear everywhere. She said that in such circumstances a group of students decided to go to the border and they first reached the border of Poland by train. Simran said that it was from here that the duty of the embassy officials started which took them to the airport and she arrived at the Delhi airport from Poland with her companions. From there they came by bus to their village Dumna via Morinda.

On the return of their daughter Simran's mother Sukhwinder Kaur and father Gursewak Singh thanked God and thanked the Central Government and said that the remaining students should be brought back to India as soon as possible. The parents demanded that the Government of India should complete the degree for the students who have dropped out their study. On this occasion parents also distributed laddu to the villagers.
