The Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University commemorated National Sports Day on 31st August in the premises of Professor GursewakSingh Government College of Physical Education amidst great mirth, verve and camaraderie. The hon’ble guests gracing the event included the Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen (Dr) J. S Cheema and Registrar Col. Navjit Singh Sandhu.
The Staff and teachers gave a formal welcome to the guests and dignitaries and after a highly influential welcome speech by Vice Chancellor, the events of the day commenced on an enthusiastic note.
The events of the day included Quiz Competition and Declamation contest which started in parallel sessions. The Principals, staff and students of the affiliated and the constituent colleges under the aegis of the university joined online and hailed their support and admiration.The Declamation Contest focused inherently on sports topics which aimed to provide a platform for students to express their views and awareness regarding sport dynamics. The budding youth of today participated enthusiastically and expressed their versatile perceptive. Simultaneously the quiz contest emphasized on the improvement of the general awareness of students regarding sport dynamics. It was a sheer display of ecstatic spirit and both the events were successful one. It must be written here that this type of competition enhances eagerness of learning among students brings out plethora full of diverse ideas.
