Morinda, March 24 (Bhatoa)
The online transfer policy was introduced by the Punjab government in 2019, but many teachers who were transferred in 2021 under this policy are still waiting to go to the schools of their choice. Dharminder Singh Bhangu, senior leader of the Government Teachers Union, stated that these transfers were implemented in August 2021 under the online transfer policy. After the implementation of the third and fourth round transfers, the teachers were referred to the old school citing the paper of NAS (National Achievement Survey)The NAS exam was held in November. Teachers transferred in and out of the district are facing similar problems due to return to schools. These deputations are not being revoked even in those schools where the required staff remains as per the rules after the transfer. Due to all of these, these transfers are almost non-existent even when implemented. These long pending transfers are evidence of the department's lack of seriousness towards teachers. Teacher leader Shri Bhangu has demanded from the new Education Minister of Punjab Shri Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair to take initiative to implement the said transfers through personal intervention.
