PUNJAB GOVERNMENT TO SPEND OVER RS 12 CRORE ON DEVELOPMENT WORKS FOR THE BEAUTIFICATION OF AMRITSAR: LOCAL GOVERNMENT MINISTER DR. INDERBIR SINGH NIJJAR

The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, continues its efforts to provide essential amenities, Clean and Pollution free environment to the residents of the state. With a focus on establishing a clean and pollution-free environment, the government has initiated several development works and schemes throughout Punjab.

Today, Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, the Local Government Minister, announced that the Punjab Government has decided to spend Rs 12 crore for the beautification and development of Amritsar. This significant budget will facilitate the construction and repair of streets in different wards, as well as the painting and renovation of parks across various constituencies.

Notably, the construction of streets in wards no. 33, 35, 37, 38, 40, 41, 62, 63, and 66 in Amritsar will be undertaken at a cost of Rs 2.45 crore.

Furthermore, Rs 29.80 lakh will be spent for the repair and maintenance of streets in the South constituency and the Central Constituency ( Zone No. 4).

To enhance the aesthetics of the city, painting and renovation projects for parks in the South, Central, and North constituencies will also be initiated, with a budget of Rs 1.52 crore.

Additionally, a sum of Rs 7.55 crore will be utilized for interlocking tiles in various streets, CC patchwork, road widening from Sadar Thane to Mother Teresa Statue (including road work, interlocking tiles, etc.), and other related works.

Dr. Nijjar reiterated the Punjab Government's commitment to providing a corruption-free administration to the people of the state. Any individuals found involved in corrupt practices will face appropriate legal consequences without exemption.

Furthermore, Dr. Nijjar directed the officials responsible for the development works to maintain the highest standards of quality and execution to achieve the desired outcomes.

The Punjab Government remains steadfast in its dedication to the overall welfare and development of its residents, with the vision of creating a vibrant and prosperous state.
