Civil Surgeon inspects Emergency ward in District Hospital

Asks doctors and staff to give full priority to Emergency patients

With a view to make the functioning of District Hospital better and more effective, Civil surgeon Dr Adarshpal Kaur paid a surprise visit to the Emergency ward of the hospital. During routine inspection, Dr Adarshpal Kaur monitored the availability of free medicines and essential medical equipment and visited different rooms. She said that all the staff was present on duty. She also spoke to the patients who expressed satisfaction over the health facilities and arrangements over there.

               The Health Official directed the entire staff including the doctors to give full priority to the patients coming in emergency and to start their examination and treatment immediately. She said that all the paperwork can be completed later but the first task is to take care of the patient and start the treatment.

              The Civil Surgeon instructed them that better health facilities must be provided to the people visiting the government health institutions and the patients should not face any difficulty. She asked the doctors to prescribe only generic and other medicines which are available in the hospital pharmacy and not make patients buy medicines from private medical shops. She also stressed on the need to pay more attention to cleanliness in all the rooms .

               Dr Adarshpal  asked doctors to have a cordial relation with patients and not to react sharply even when unpleasant situations emerge at times. She said the doctor-patient relationship is very important as good relationship between the doctor and patient will lead to frequent, quality information about the patient's disease and better health care for the patient.
