Civil surgeon reviews work at Aam Aadmi Clinics, gives necessary instructions

New health centers to be operational from August 15 in district

Civil Surgeon Dr. Adarshpal Kaur today reviewed the work progress of "Aam Aadmi Clinics" being built at Phase 5, Chhaju Majra Colony and Jandpur village in the district and gave necessary instructions to the officials.

          The Civil Surgeon said that under the guidelines of the state government, 15 new health centers are being built at different places in the district to provide better and proper health services to the people. The health centers have been named as Aam Aadmi Clinics. She said that the building work of all these clinics is going on in full swing. 13 clinics will be operational from August 15 and the remaining 2 will be operational after some time. Dr. Adarshpal Kaur said that that every clinic will be staffed with a Medical officer, Pharmacist, Clinical Assistant & Sweeper cum Helper. The Human resources at these clinics are to be empanelled on a per patient basis. These clinics will provide outpatient care for a range of curative care for common illnesses, first aid for injuries, dressing and management of minor wounds. Referral and subsequent follow up for specialized care will also be done through these clinics. She added that health education, information and awareness too shall be focused upon. Essential drugs and tests will be made available at AAM Aadmi clinics. The diagnostic facilities will be provided through PPP mode.  

    Meanwhile, the Civil Surgeon paid a surprise visit to the Primary Health Center at Chandon near Kharar and inspected the facilities being provided to the people besides checking the attendance of the staff and other registers. She instructed the staff that the people coming to the health institutions should not face any kind of difficulty. She said that instead of asking patients to purchase medicines from outside, medicines available in the hospital pharmacy must be given.

          District Immunization officer Dr Girish Dogra, District Program Manager Rajeev Kumar and other officials were also present on the occasion.
