Former Dera Bassi MLA and senior Akali Dal leader NK Sharma said that the lies of Congress party and Aam Aadmi Party were exposed today when SIT had acquitted Akali Dal on the issue of Beadbi. He said that in this case both Congress party and Aam Aadmi Party should apologize to all Punjabis who have formed their governments by misleading on the name of Religion. He said that Akali Dal has always been working for the all round development of Punjab and has fought for the interests of Punjab and the people of Punjab still remember the Akali Dal government in Punjab.
Speaking at a press conference in Mohali today, NK Sharma said that the entire politics of Congress and Aam Aadmi Party was based on lies and by unnecessarily defaming the Akali Dal and conspiring against the Akali Dal, first the Congress and now the Aam Aadmi Party had formed the government. He said that the core committee of Akali Dal could decide to take legal action against the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party leaders for making misleading statements in the matter of (Beadbi) indecency.
He said that Akali Dal was running the state government in a very good manner during 2015 and Punjab got the award of Best Infrastructure State. Similarly, the award of Best Electricity Distribution was also given to Punjab during the Akali government. He said that Best Ease to Do Business for doing business all over India was in the time of Akali Dal government in Punjab. Apart from this, the law and order situation in Punjab was very good during the Akali Dal government.
He said that everyone knew that Akali Dal was going to form the government in Punjab for the third time in a row and to stop it, the then Congress and Aam Aadmi Party spread a lot of lies against the Akali Dal that the Akali Dal was responsible for the Beadbi. He said that last five years of Congress government had made a complete drama and by fielding officers like Kunwar Vijay Pratap, the Congress had left no stone unturned to discredit the Akali Dal. He said that during last five years Aam Aadmi Party had been cursing Congress for not resolving the issue of indecency. He said that three or four SITs were constituted in this case and the matter even went to the High Court and finally after five years the government was changed and the Aam Aadmi Party government came into power. He said that now Aam Aadmi Party has also completed its investigation and now Congress has started saying that Aam Aadmi Party has not taken any action.
He said that the whole country knew that the family of Mr. Parkash Singh Badal is a religious family. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal was the party of the people of Punjab, the party of martyrs and the Akali Dal had been fighting for the rights of Punjab from the very beginning. He said that whenever there was a problem on any Punjabi in the world, the Akali Dal stood by him. He said that this was the reason why the governments of Delhi had been conspiring from the very beginning to destroy this institution. He said that the effort is still going on today but now the cat has come out of the bag.
Speaking on various issues on the occasion, NK Sharma said that the Aam Aadmi Party government of a few months had ruined the economy of Punjab. He said that in such a short span of time the Aam Aadmi Party has taken a loan of Rs. 15-16 thousand crores. He said that Punjab's debt had gone up to 45% of GDP which had never been out of order during the Akali Dal government. He said that Aam Aadmi Party was using the financial resources of Punjab for its own interests in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. He said that daily advertisements of Rs.2.5 crore were being given by Aam Aadmi Party in various states and the economy of Punjab was being completely destroyed. Unemployment is at its peak. The law and order situation has deteriorated and it everyday and murders are happening in Punjab.
Replying to media persons, NK Sharma said that the Akali Dal had suffered a loss due to the break up of the alliance with the BJP but the Akali Dal stood by its principles and there was no question of an alliance with the BJP. On the issue of unconditional support to Draupadi Murmu for the post of President, he said that the Akali Dal would never give conditional support to any party and Draupadi Murmu was also supported as she belongs to tribal and weaker section.
He said that people and businessmen in Punjab were being asked to pay ransom. He said that today businessman is not coming to Punjab for the deteriorating law and order situation. He said that in Mohali alone thousands of crores of rupees had been invested by Akali Dal but today no investment was coming in Punjab. He said that corruption in the tehsils has quadrupled.
He said that the waters of Punjab were being looted and the Akali Dal had been fighting against it and would continue to do so and the waters of Punjab would not be allowed to be plundered.
He said that Aam Aadmi Party had completely failed in the matter of free power and power supply and this was the first time that a city like Zirakpur was facing more than 48 hours of power cuts. He said that the situation was similar in the villages of Punjab where people were not getting power supply. He said that so far no notification has been issued by the government to make the power free and the government has not fulfilled any of its guarantees.
He demanded that the Aam Aadmi Party government and the Congress party should apologize to the people of Punjab for conspiring against the Akali Dal on the issue of indecency.
