Balbir Singh Sidhu, the sitting Congress MLA from Mohali Assembly Constituency, has not only cheated the people of Mohali on many issues but also deceived the people by promising to completely abolish the property tax.
Kulwant Singh, Aam Aadmi Party's candidate from Mohali constituency, said that during the Akali government in 2014, MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu claimed through the media that Mohali people would get complete exemption from property tax if Congress government comes to power.
But the reality is that as soon as the Congress party came to power, Sidhu defied that promise and for the whole five years, Sidhu, sometimes as Animal Husbandry Minister and sometimes as Health and Labour Minister, enjoyed full power & luxury doing nothing and made the the people of Mohali live like a tenant in their very own houses. Sidhu could not abolish the property tax as promised to the public.
Sardar Kulwant Singh said that Congress MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu, who betrayed the people of Mohali on important issues like property tax, is not worthy of even an iota of trust of the people of Mohali. Hence such candidate should not even be allowed to enter their areas.
He said that only Aam Aadmi Party's 'Broom' will clean such political mess, and people of Punjab should strengthen Aam Aadmi Party by voting on the election symbol 'Broom' on February 20 so that 'AAP' government is formed in Punjab and better facilities are provided to the people.
