Parvinder Singh Sohana, Chief Sewadar of Mohali constituency of Shiromani Akali Dal said in a statement that builders belonging to Congress party and Aam Aadmi Party in Mohali constituency have been occupying a large number of Shamlat lands, illegaly. He said that Plots have also been cut on "common lands Gohar, Pahe, Tod" etc.

He said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had recently said on Twitter that 'Purane Kharche, Nave Parche'. He said that under this the Chief Minister had asked the people to relinquish possession of the Panchayat lands and in case of failure to do so, FIR would be registered against them along with the charges from the time the land was occupied. He said that in spite of this the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party builders and colonizers occupying Panchayat lands in Mohali constituency were still going on in the same manner and the Chief Minister should answer who would vacate them.

Without naming anyone, he said that the panchayat lands of many villages of Mohali constituency were in the possession of companies of such leaders of which he had proper evidence.

Sohana said that if the Chief Minister did not get rid of the occupation of the Panchayat lands then he would disclose the names of these builders and colonizers and also the details of the lands under their possession and if necessary seek legal view and would file in the competent court of law.
