Two Border Roads Organisation (BRO) officers lost their lives during rescue and relief operations in Himachal Pradesh, which is witnessing flash floods and landslides due to heavy rainfall.

The BRO lost an engineer and a project officer during relief and rescue operation in the state.

Heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh's Dharamsala on Monday led to a flash flood-like situation with washing away of roadside parked cars and partially damaging houses, officials said.

Ten members of a marriage party were killed on Monday when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a 300-foot-deep gorge in Shillai sub-division of Sirmaur district, police said.

In an incident of physical assault among two high-ranking police officers in the presence of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who was in Kullu town to receive Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the police headquarters on Wednesday ordered a probe into the incident.
