Lok Sabha Elections-2024: Inter-state coordination meeting to stop the movement of criminals, drugs and money to neighbouring states in the Lok Sabha elections

A joint meeting of Fazilka, Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts was held here today to coordinate at the inter-state level to prevent the movement of criminals, drugs and money to neighbouring states during the Lok Sabha elections. Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Dr Senu Duggal presided over this meeting. District Collector of Sri Ganga Nagar Lok Bandhu, SP Sri Ganga Nagar Gaurav Yadav besides senior officials of Fazilka, Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts were present in this meeting.
  On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal said that the purpose of this meeting is to prevent anti-social elements from influencing the elections. She said that it is necessary that there should be better coordination between civil, Police, Excise and other departments. She said that to prevent the inter-state flow of anti-social elements, the border of Punjab and Rajasthan is being sealed and this will be under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. 24 checkpoints are being established on the border. Apart from this, movement of liquor and other drugs from one state to another will also be strictly prohibited.
  District Collector of Ganga Nagar Mr Lok Bandhu said that Sri Ganagagar shares 48 KM and Hanumangarh shares 18 km border with Punjab and anti-social elements will not be allowed to cross border from one state to other. He emphasized the need for sharing information among each-other and said that with better coordination it becomes very easy to root out bad elements.
Bikaner IG Om Prakash also joined in this meeting through video conference and he said that there will be better coordination between the two districts from Chowki level to SSP level then there will be no problem in conducting peaceful elections.
SP Ganga Nagar Mr. Gaurav Yadav said that along with sealing of interstate borders, the police of the two states will also conduct joint operations against anti-social elements and exchange information with each other. The Excise Department said that they will also inform each other regarding the movement of Liquor.
  Additional Deputy Commissioner Development of Fazilka Mr. Amarinder Singh Malhi, SDM Abohar Mr. Pankaj Bansal, SDM Fazilka Mr. Vipan Kumar, SDM Jalalabad Mr. Balkaran Singh, SP (Operation) Fazilka Mr. Karanveer Singh, SDM Sangria Rakesh Kumar Meena were also present on this occasion.
