Sangrur, November 14, 2022: On the occasion of Children's Day, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal spent quality time with the children of slum areas and students of government smart schools and distributed school bags, stationery and chocolates to them to motivate them to achieve their dreams. He also encouraged them to make continuous efforts in the direction of achieving their goals in the future.
 
While distributing school bags and stationery to the children of the slums who have been receiving education for the past five months under the first of its kind School on Wheels program being run by the Sangrur administration, the Deputy Commissioner said that the talent of these children has started improving. He also listened to poems and alphabets from the students on the occasion and was impressed and said that this campaign to enable the children to become a good citizen in the society will definitely bring meaningful results. He provided Shoes, undergarments, tooth brush and paste, towel, lunch box, hair oil, water bottle etc. to these children. Apart from this, refreshments were also arranged for the children.
 
After this, Deputy Commissioner visited Government Elementary Smart School Haripura Sangrur and Government Primary Smart School Punnawal Dhuri and distributed chocolates to the children. Deputy Commissioner also asked the children about their future goals, on which the students shared their thoughts about becoming a doctor, teacher, soldier or other similar goals. He said that children are the future of the country and parents and teachers should make best efforts to nurture the multifaceted talents of children so that children can become capable of fulfilling their goals.
 
On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Varjit Walia, SDM Sangrur Navreet Kaur Sekhon, Assistant Commissioner Devdarshdeep Singh, District Education Officer Kultaranjit Singh, DCPO Navneet Kaur and other officials were also present.
