Chandigarh, June 18: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala informed that the State Government is continuously creating new opportunities to increase investment and employment in Haryana. In this direction, the State Government has taken another strong initiative to create a 'Data Centre Hub' for which development of a plan has been initiated. He said that the state government would soon come out with a new 'Data Centre Policy' so that foreign companies would be attracted to open data centres in the state.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of the Industries and Commerce Department, held a meeting through video conferencing where he took suggestions from the representatives of many big companies for the formation of 'Data Centre Policy'.

After the meeting, Sh. Dushyant Chautala informed that data centre is a new area in the industries and it will provide new opportunities for investment and employment to the State. He said that with the formation of new Data Centre Policy not only will data centres in big cities of Haryana like Faridabad, Cyber City Gurugram get a boost, but data centres in metro cities like Mumbai will also be attracted to shift to Haryana.

He said that many foreign companies want to set up their data centres in India. He informed that the State Government wants to develop the state as a hub of a big data centre of the country. For this, the state government is drafting a new policy. For this new policy, suggestions of Industry representatives of many companies associated with this sector have been considered.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that with the speed with which the work is being done by the department, he is hopeful that the 'Data Centre Policy' will be ready by July and after that it will be implemented.

Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce Department, Sh. Vijayendra Kumar, Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Department, Sh. Vineet Garg, Director General of Industries and Commerce, Sh. Saket Kumar and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
